How Rocketown Makes A Difference

As of 2010:

We serve more than 1,500 kids each week, providing them with fun, support, encouragement, and mentoring relationships.
We have served over 1,100 kids through our counseling program since it began over two years ago. This free counseling program addresses and treats issues such as pre-teen adjustment, depression, grief, and anxiety.
Of the kids in counseling, 88% experienced a positive change in their situation, as determined by the counselor’s assessment and their self-assessment.
Re-Act is a free, after-school academic enrichment and creative learning program for students from low-income families. We provide this free service for more than 60 kids each year.
Of the kids who participate in the Re-Act after-school program, their English grades increased by 6.5% and math grades increased by 11.1%.
We have been able to dramatically improve school attendance for kids in our after-school program, reducing absences from 6.87 days to .28 days.
Rocketown is available to all kids, regardless of their ability to pay. For the past two summers, we served over 800 kids through our Summer Sessions Program. We provided need-based scholarships to 79% of those kids.
