Gear Heads
Dates Available: May 28-June 1, June 18-22
Gearheads is a program designed to get kids excited about anything mechanical. At the beginning of the week the kids work as a team to build a go kart. Then each day we race that go kart on the several different race tracks we can build with cones and tires on our parking lot. We do a points system like Nascar throughout the week to see who is the most consistent driver. This is a very fun but intense week. The kids learn a lot about vehicle control, strategy and gain a basic knowledge of engines, clutches and suspensions. It is outside on a hot summer parking lot, and closed toe shoes are required.
Staff: Ben Cissell
Ben Cissell is the instructor of this class. Ben has been working with cars and go karts since he was a kid. Ben’s goal for your child is to come away from this week with a basic understanding of how an engine works, how to work as a team, and have the best summer of his or her life.
